  • Best landie for biofuels?

    Hello All,

Looking for advice: I'm in the market for a landrover, and, after looking through the fabulous resource that is this forum, thought it might be a good idea to pick your collective brains about the best landie for the job... before I buy the car.

At the moment I'm looking closely at a Td5 Discovery 1999.

Also, could anyone recommend a mechanic that know's their way around a rover and isn't afraid of BD in the Sydney region? I'd also consider WVO conversion if this was something you could 'have done'?

    Much appreciated,

    Sammy

    Sammy,
Welcome. I see you found the Forum. I believe Robert has a Landie (Disco?). Fitian does conversions in Sydney (and may travel further afield) and is pretty thorough with his conversions.
There are photos of his conversions, of some vehicles, on the forum.

    Plenty to read here.

    Tony

sammy good choice. (for a landrover that is) go the td5 series i heard that the 2001 model is the best when i was considering getting one. i was told to not even touch a TDi as they had quite a few landrover like special problems. i also heard about dramas with the TD4 freelanders like parts taking months to be sent out etc etc. about the bio friendly mech i cannot help you except say that the td5 disco's are pretty simple to self service so don't let it bother you too much about the mech.
      cheers and welcome
      Nick.
