The worst thing with repairing injector pumps is not the repair, but the heart ache you have when you can't test the pump on a bench and have to use the vehicle, to then find something may be wrong,not a good situation when it's your daily driver.
Though last quote I got was $88 (in Gatton) to test a pump on the bench.

Thanks Westwinds - I think after checking the pressure from the low pressure pump this is my next option. I'll ask the mechanic to check this for me. I'll look in my manual but from memory the engine needs to be pulled to remove the HP pump? I've been pretty close the painful and expensive exercise.

Thanks Pete - can you remember the name of the shop that bench tests fuel pumps? - Gatton? - why are these places always in the middle of no-where?

Hi Westwinds - this might be a silly question - but is it possible to text High Pressure pumps 'in situ'? - MobileLube offer a fuel testing/cleaning service but I'm not confident as to its quality

Thanks Smithw - interesting that it doesn't show a low presser/lifter pump in the fuel tank? - I'll refer to the manual to see if it has one.- Appreciated thanks.

I can't find the number but the guys name is Teddy Boon,he's a retired diesel mechanic who was the local injector pump rebuilder for Ipswich and the lockyer valley,He was the owner of the bussiness and when he retired he shut shop took all the gear home and now rebuilds injector pumps and injectors from his place.I don't know how you'd go mailing him your pump from the Sunny coast,it would be cheaper to find some one local to test bench it.
Bear with me I 'll try and find his number--sorry couldn't be more helpful.

It should only cost about 35 dollars via fast way or couriers please from coast to coast.
