Re: Engine missing at 3000 revs under load!

      Sorry should have been clearer

Morris is a Member on here as well. He has a wholesale BD business in Sydney and at the moment you can't buy retail from him but some of us are hopeful that he will be able to do some limited supply of BD on a regular basis.

At the moment for retail sales of B100 there isn't anyone in Sydney and from personal bad experiance with 2 VP servos and another no-name servo I am steering clear of unknown quality servos who are selling B?? Blends.

But this is not really the thread for this chat there is a BIG thread in the industry forum all about this exact problem.

Yes, sorry, I'm off topic too, but just to clarify who Morris is:

Morris ran The Biodiesel Station in Marrickville before it sadly had to close to the retail public due to issues not to do with business or biodiesel. He is still reselling biodiesel to fleets and councils and was also able to bring a mini tanker truck full of biodiesel to the Sydney Biodiesel Users' Group Picnic a few weeks back. At some point, we may try to organise ourselves to buy fuel from him this way on a regular basis. Morris is also now on the steering committee of the BAA and is one of the few "industry" people who actually contribute to the forum here. (If you want to discuss this, please do it in a different thread, not in here).

        Now back to normal programming...
        Robert.

It could be the fuel filter- that is what happens when the fuel filter is nearly clogged and needs replaced.

Are there any issues at full power at high RPM in lower gears?
Could be a combination of partially blocked filter and air leakage into the fuel system.
Sort out the air leakage and replace the fuel filter.

I have had a similar issue with my 2004 Prado. The primer diaphragm has failed and, when under heavy load (eg accelerating up hills). It has the same symptoms as fuel starvation, (loss of power). Air is sucked into the fuel system via the faulty diaphragm. At idle, little air enters, but under load, the suction of fuel from the tank causes a significant pressure drop in the steel fuel lines and this vacuum sucks the air into the fuel system via the diaphragm.
To prove this I bypassed the stock Toyota fuel filter with a fine mesh filter without a primer pump. The car ran well with no fuel starvation issues.
