    Davo,
Common Rail Diesels are a bit more difficult than the old mechanical injected diesels. Due to the DPF in the exhaust system, and the electronic monitoring of the exhaust gas pressures before and after the DPF, the engine management system may need to be reprogrammed to make it work properly without going into "Limp home mode" due to the inability of Veggie oil fuels to burn hot enough to burn the diesel soot from the DPF.
Alexander Noac of Grease Energy / Elsbett has developed 'engine management system' programs for many vehicles.

For further information please contact Alexander at Contact - ANC - GREASEnergy - ELSBETT - onlineshop
To Browse his site. please visit

I hope that you are able to convert your vehicle without too much expense.
While you are getting ready, why not contact your local restaurants, fast food stores and Deli/lunch bars to see what oil they have available and how much oil they can supply monthly.

Also have a look at "Up-flow settling" for low energy oil preparation , followed by filtering th.rough a 1 micron bag filter.

Here is a link to the updated drawing of my Up-flow settling system:

        Davo,
You may be aware that the DPF in CRD engines will not work properly due to the different combustion characteristics of Diesel and Vegetable oil.
If you try to use veggie oil without modifying the Engine Control Unit, you may end up in "Limp Home Mode" with subsequent embarrassment and possibly some costs. Grease Energy have an ECU reprogram that can be used to stop the DPF high temperature burn (extra diesel injected in exhaust stroke to burn out the diesel particulates from the DPF.)

I have heard of some people running a low percentage of veggie oil in a blend with diesel in CRD engines. I have had no reports of the success, or otherwise, of this, or what blends are thought to be safe to use.

You should contact Alexander Noack (noack@anc.me) to discuss your options in this matter, as he is a world expert in using vegetable fuels in diesel engines, generators, etc.

Please keep us informed of what you learn in this matter.

        Tony
