Good on ya. Nice trailer, why the Mobil sign? Is that where you always go to pump up your tyres?

Kevin,
Please check the thread where members offer oil to other members traveling around Oz.
Contact those members along your route and if no response, then post asking for any member along your route to respond if they can assist you.
How much fuel can you carry in the trailer?

Hi Johnnojack I bought the trailer with the sticker already on it and I didn't have the heart to take it off so just worked around it after all stickers are expensive these days I have added a few extra ones since I finished the project I love old stickers

I think he'll be very save. Save a small fortune in fact!Originally posted by jkis View Postgood luck enjoy and be save.
I know it's one of the pleasures of my interstate trips. Clients pay me for flights and car hire and I take my own. I enjoy looking at the scenery as I go along and get to pocket that much extra as spending money.
One day I hope to do pretty much just this, do a trip for a few months seeing the sights of oz in a veg Fueled rig.
Have a good time limoman!

Re: About to Head off again on another Adventure on SVO
Hi all, Craig asked for a run down on the SVO side of the Bus also know as the Flying Brick. Well I run a two tank system from the svo tank I have a Sherwood stainless steel strainer, then into a Raptor fuel pump with adjustable pressure switch which was purschased from the USA Oil is then pumped up to my heat exchanger which is a heated Raycor Truck filter head assembly which was modified because I found the filters to expensive so made a alloy block which was screwed on and now I use a z9 oil filters the filter head had a small thermostat in it which has been removed oil passes through the heat exchanger up to a Pollack valve straight into the injection pump I have had Pollack valves on both my vehicle for about 12 years and have never had any problems at all, I do carry a spare because of the bad wraps they were having but still haven't had any problems, I also have a temp probe and guage the system is the same on my GQ Patrol except for the Pump which is a Walbro FBR 5 and the heat exchanger which is a Twine shower heat exchanger with a difference I contacted the company and they made another exchanger but instead of copper they made the centre out of alloy because I was concerned about the reaction of copper and svo hope this was of interest to you thanks Kevin Limoman

Hey Kevin,
Sounds good - so the filter pre the raptor pump - is that just one of the sintered units with a mesh inside a glass housing ?
Do you loop your fuel or return to tank ?
What engine is in the bus ? What sort of Mileage do you get towing the trailer.

Re: About to Head off again on another Adventure on SVO
Hi Craig
Yes you are correct the first filter is a sintered unit I also have a return line to the tank the same on the Nissan, the bus has a 6bd1t turbo charged intercooled motor 6 speed gearbox 4.1 limited slip diff all were fitted by myself and engineer approved I blew one motor up all my own fault I adjusted the injection pump up giving it a lot more fuel went for test run and kaboom I have now fitted another motor which was reconditioned and also fitted a pyrometer so I can play with the pump but see what egt temps I am now running as for mpg I have no idea I have never really worried or tested but I think it is pretty reasonable but I will do a mileage test while away and report back Kevin Limoman

Re: About to Head off again on another Adventure on SVO
Hey there Kevin and friends,
Sounds like an awesome trip!
I'm going to do a drive next month from Melbourne to Cairns up the middle, through Bourke, Charleville, Barcaldine, Torrens Creek and Townsville. I don't see any offers on the forum for SVO along that route. Since your drive looks like it covers some of the same ground I thought I'd ask you first whether you found or know of SVO suppliers around there? I'm happy to pay a fair price for filtered oil, or I'll probably take some basic filtering equipment with me.
Cheers,
Jonathan
