I have an old 86 Trooper that I was originally interested in converting to vegetable oil and then life happened. Much has been done to it although the last mechanic I hired to install a rebuilt injection pump and rebuilt turbo never got it running again properly and hence has been sitting. I am curious what value these old Troopers have here in the USA since they had only been imported in 1986 and then stopped. I'd like to sell it and do not know the best route to get it's true value in the sale of the vehicle. Where to list it for sale (I care not for eBay) since there seems bit of rarity in this vehicle. Does anybody here in the US or western United Stated have an idea of where to list it and what it might be worth?

Re: 1986 Isuzu Trooper TD for sale
Jerry O,
You would be well advised to get it running well before trying to sell it.
A non-runner is only worth parts value or less.
A running vehicle is worth much more.
Get a mechanic who has experience in the non-common rail diesels and have him get it working. Providing the injector pump is timed correctly (and the valve timing has not been altered by the previous mechanic) it should not be hard to fix.
Good luck.
