  • Wanted - Bosch Pump to suit Peugeot 306 XUD9 TD

    Hi All,

The O ring between hydraulic head and pump body has started leaking badly on my pump (Lucas) so rather than spend the $500 plus to get it fixed, I would like to switch to a Bosch pump so I may run WVO without fear.

Is anyone able to assist? I would need pump, hard lines and injectors. No problem if it needs a reco.

    Cheers,

    Neil

    Neil,
As there were limited imports of that model of car into Australia, and all imports might have the same IP fitted, you could do better asking people on Peugeot forums in Australia and Europe, or biofuels forums in UK / Europe for assistance locating and sending the required parts.
Here is the Classifieds sub-forum of the Veg Oil Diesel forum in UK:

                  Quick update:

I manage to source a pump from an Aussiefrogs forum member. My mechanic was a champ and got it going again for me in a couple of days, even though I forgot to drain the WVO from the tank and fill with diesel to make life easier for him!

Go to whoa its cost me around $1,000 - but I'll save that in fuel costs over the next 3 months as I can now run straight WVO without fear.

Much nicer and more modern car than my old 300D!

                  Cheers,

                  Neil

Did you get injectors as well, they work at 175 PSI vs 150 odd for the CAV pump, pity I did not see this I have a spare pump for my 306. $1000 is not too bad, pump and injectors will set you back at least $400 install is not too bad. Did you put in new glow plugs, would have been the time to do it.

                      Hi Matt,

Yes I did get the injectors as well. Didn't change the glow plugs as they were working fine. I'm aware that the one behind the pump is difficult to change, but I figure with the mild Newcastle weather and sparse use of ether, I shouldn't have any trouble getting it going on 3.

I've installed a rough an ready after market filter setup which uses commonly available filters at any Recpo or Supercheap. I'll post some pics when I've done some more k's with the set up in the colder weather.

                      Cheers

                      Neil

Good to hear, would be interested in what you do, what model and year is it? Most likely a hatch? I have the later sedan that had CAV and now bosch due to seals going with B100 and the cost to fix >$4000.
