Hi Yendor Clocking up 80,000 km on your existing filtering is sufficient proof that what you are doing works. So ďif it ainít broke donít fix itĒ!....

Hi Cade, thanks for the reply, Always interested in the processes others have to make their fuel. We have just bought a 6mx6m shed to put on the black and turn it into our brewing barn so were looking at simplicity. Cheers Brenden

I'm actually in touch with Michael. Looks like he'll take over my sources. I actually haven't been doing my own brewing for some time. So I haven't being buying other raw mats. Thanks for your reply.

    All the best,Gordon.

Not sure mate if you saw my message about waste oil - I'm now going direct to a few of the Brisbane guys.

In short, I'm looking to line up my sources with other forum users. I now have three sources in inner-northside Brisbane, and collect somewhere around 100+ litres per month (I collect every six + weeks). It would be a real shame to see these sources taken up by Associated Oils or similar.

My number is 0412 776 876. Hope to hear from you.

Can I pop over some time and watch a batch being made ? I've stopped because I missed something several times and also smashed the car. that's another story. Looking for some more ideas for the processor.

hi cade you be there saturday
  9. Matt,

Thanks for the reply, yeah they are the numbers i use. Most batches end up a total of around 6 or 6.5 grams of Naoh per litre for me. occasionally I will run across some toxic stuff that pushes through 9. still makes great fuel though.

having said that I did the warnie's conversion test and yes I do have some left over oil. I guess that possibly my mix goes a little cold durinig the agitation? I am reluctant to put too much more caustic in, but perhaps I should try a little batch to test. I routinely check my specific gravity and it has never deviated from 0.88. What do you think?

I live in Griffin, (near mango hill on the highway north bound), nice spot typical subburban house, but with an over used garden shed!!!

You are welcome to come over for a beer one day and talk rubbish if you are so interested.

    Kind regards,

Cade, must be very old as I have doen many many batches with KOH. If I remember the basics 3.5 is the base for clean oil, if its been cooked then a little more will aid the reaction. At a base of 3.5 then you may not get complete transesterification and have remaining oil. This is not a bad thing necessarily but in modern diesels I would tend to good conversion.

Where in Brisbane are you? I am in East Brisbane.
