  1. Re: Landcruiser 100 series 1HDFTE 2001 on Biodiesel?

Been running B100 in my 2004 100 Series 1HD-FTE without any mods or any issues. No noticable different in economy or power.

    Re: Biodiesel Plant

Use the search term "appleseed" in Google Pictures and you'll find plenty of pics. From these you can easily develop a design and manipulate based on the materials you can obtain.

Sticky: Poll: Re: Diesel Particulate Filters and Bio

There was a full and detailed explaination some time ago on why the DPF is a no go for bio. It talked about the burning of soot in the DPF and how bio can't do what's needed, thus the DPF blocks.

Re: WVO / SVO oil and what you do with it

I collect and store in 20ltr drums, filtered through shade cloth into a 205ltr drum to get the chips and so on out, from there it's pumped into the processor. I only filter to save my pump from...

Sticky: Poll: Re: Diesel Particulate Filters and Bio

If you look at the "which cars will run on bio" sticky you'll find DPF cars are not in that mix. I'd suggest from that you can assume the answer of the collective grey.
I'm just about to buy a new...
  6. Re: G30 Green Petrol - Alternative Transport Fuel to Regular Petrol

Sounds good, but people will buy purley on price. If you're not at least 20 percent cheaper then normal petrol, and if the fuel is not the equivelent spec to premium petrol, you've lost the battle...

Sticky: Poll: Re: Diesel Particulate Filters and Bio

Just keep buying cars that don't have a DPF and if you just have to have the brand/model that only has a DPF then us a low percentage blend.

    Re: Filtration Troubles

As Tony said, we rarely filter the oil before processing, I run the oil through a course strainer just to get the fries and larger solids out. I often have an issue with the "fat" content in the oil,...

    Re: heated fuel line questions

It all depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you are wanting to heat the fuel during winter to prevent blocking of the filter then you need a WORT style heater.

    Any winterising of the fuel...

Re: Ideas from an Aussie Newbie

With all the time and effort put into all of this to make it for "almost free" the end product will have cost you more than if you get dino at the servo.

    Just a thought.

Re: How do you dry/clean your BIO

The low tech solution is usually the best.

I'm always interested in different drying processes. Can you post up some picks of your stir wash system please.
  13. Re: making biodiesel and using in 80 series TD

KP's 80 seried TD has over 150k, my 80 TD had 100k and my 100 series TD has 40k, all on B100. As suggested above, the bio is probably not the issue. Though I don't subscribe to water washing, I do...

Re: How do you dry/clean your BIO

Yes Matt, that's how both batches of fuel were washed, mine and KP's.

Murf, you use air to wash, thus no "drying" process required post wash. Those who water wash do so and then have to dry the...

    Re: biodiesel in Adelaide

I thought all of the SAFF outlets had been closed down once the Fed Govt introduced the B5 limit. I'd be interested if someone could confirm if SAFF is still operating in some places in Adelaide and...

Google "appleseed processor" and switch to pictures. There's a heap of pics of how others have done it. Use these as ideas to come up with your own processor. That's the best way as you can tailor it...

Re: How do you dry/clean your BIO

I'm probably the laziest bio maker here. I simply bubble for 7 days and store for a month or so befor using. Works a treat and saves water and my time. :-)

Re: Big Hot Water Service For Reactor?

Glen, I'm not sure that doubling the pump will halve the rule of thumb. Time is the primary ingredient, IMO, to a good mix, not volume.

I've not had any issues running B100 in Canberra in winter,...

Re: Big Hot Water Service For Reactor?

If you use the rule of thumb that I use, for every 50ltrs of oil you mix for one hour, then you shouldn't have any mixing issues. I've found a QB80 to be a good pump and about the max volume you can...

    Re: Biodiesel or SVO

I'd suggest that both options require an amount of effort and have implications with the vehicle.

Do lots of reading and do what then works for you.

I assume you are correct Tony, but as Craig is having an issue I was just interested if this might have been the cause.
