Re: Power steering pump for SVO pumping

    Hi Steve,

I use a power steering pump out of a mid 80's Honda Accord to run my centrifuge. I think you've seen it. I used to run the pump on my good 230v drill at about 1/3 speed of 750rpm, ie...

Re: walbro FRB 5 strip down

    Hi Mark,

It was a few years ago when I had mine apart. After taking the top off, I remember being able to just lift/tip out the reciprocating piston (a tube with a valve at one end). I could...

    Re: Kilometreage

My Hiace has done 80,000km since I got it at 156,000km (236,000km total). Of this, 49,000km has been on veg with up to 5% petrol and the other 31,000km on diesel for short trips and startup/purge as...
  6. Re: Anyone know how to remove/clean the mesh screen inside a Walbro FRB-5 pump ?

    Hi Craig,

I agree with mark on the need to protect the small valve parts inside the pump with a filter. I've cleaned mine once; after about two years of use. It had collected a few bits of...

Re: Hilux and Hiace owner please advise!!!

Thanks for getting the photo up Dom.

In the photo you can see the top hose going via the ball valve to the HE's. Before the valve is a T to the cabin heater. The "S" shaped hose off this T is an...

Re: Hilux and Hiace owner please advise!!!

    Hi Dom,

My engine is the "5L" and I use a Hilux workshop manual. The manual shows the upper hose "line 1" as the hot outflow from the engine and the lower hose "line 2" returning to the engine.

    Re: Centrifuge help!

    Hi Grant

I pre-settle my oil then cold filter it through a woolies bag. I run my CF with the oil at 80C (it looks a lot thinner at 80C than at 60C). It runs for about three hours and gets stired...

Re: Centrifuge setup- what pump to use?

    Hi pwibbip

I'm very happy with my OC-20 centrifuge. It's been running with a power steering pump and a high torque drill for about a year and a half. The PS pump cost $50 from the wreckers and I...

    Re: Glow Plug Longevity

100,000 Km + is what I expected from glow plugs. Good to hear that vegers are getting over 300,000 km from theirs.

Some of us arenít so lucky. I've heard from another veger, whose GP's only last...

Re: diesel knock with elsbett nozzles

Just went for another drive. There is still a bit of a knock, but it's definitely better. It does, however, extend further into the rev range, being drowned out at about 2500 rpm. ...

Re: diesel knock with elsbett nozzles

I had a play with the timing today by rotating the IP.

Retarding the timing reduced the clatter, I think (wishful listening), but it also reduced the performance on diesel. The 0 - 100 Km/h time...

    Glow Plug Longevity

How long should a glow plug last?

    Re: Centrifuge Setup

The pressure relief valve regulates the pressure and acts as a safety valve. The ball valve is used to control how much oil flows through the CF.
