Yeah I guess they don't make them like the old Mercs any more. Pity mine succumbed to the hail in December. 400,000km and still going strong.
Well nobody wants to take my WVO drums, so if anyone will at least take some WVO off my hands it will save me having to dump it!
I have about 400-500L going begging. I'll be getting rid of it if...
Still available if anybody is interested...
After 10 years of use, I'm getting rid of this setup FREE, see here: http://www.biofuelsforum.com/threads/11698-FREE-Drums-plumbing-and-pump
Hi All, my Mercedes was a victim of the December hailstorm :(, so now I'm getting rid of the rest of my drums and pumps, FREE for anyone wanting to pick up.
Preference to anybody that can take...
After many years of good use I'm scaling down my WVO setup so I've got a couple of storage drums, a 240V pump and various hoses, valves and connectors going begging if anyone wants them.

Nice WVO filtering setup going cheap here:
Biofuel Waste Vegie Oil Processing Plant | Other Automotive | Gumtree Australia Hornsby Area - Berowra
I can vouch for this setup as I've seen it. It's all professionally welded with brackets and stands etc and makes filtering and drying very simple. It would be a real shame if there are no takers.

Well, after all that it was the glow plugs. All 6 of them were bad! I reamed them and replaced them with new ones and now she starts on the first kick.
Thanks for your help and suggestions guys.
No I haven't tried anything yet, except measuring the voltage on the GPs. How do I ream the holes?
If Tony sees this I'd be interested in his experience, as he has been running his W124 for about...
Well guys here we are 2 years later and I'm beginning to have cold starting problems with my W124. I did the thermostat bypass but no other modifications, and been running it on a 50/50 blend...
Socrates, if you haven't already bought that Ebay pump I would advise against it. I've bought some stuff from that seller (he is a few streets away from my place) and my mate bought one of those...
Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I'm interested to hear other W124 owners experiences since buying one myself a few months ago.
I've been running it on a blend (~50/50) over the summer and it...

It was indeed a great shame to lose such an awesome boat.
I have run genuine Pollacks for 2 years in 2 Mercedes 300Ds with no problems at all.
There were some fake Pollacks around that gave people problems but the genuine ones rarely fail.
Still it's...
That could unfortunately make them a non-starter. WVO and biodiesel react with aluminium and breaks it down. I seem to remember hearing this on the forums before, but the proof for me is when I...
Great to hear of your trip so far Phil. If there are no forum members where you are going you will probably find plenty of WVO from restaurants/chippies. On my trip to Alice in April I found the more...
Not sure why it isn't working for you, but PM me your new email address and I'll do it for you.
I did mine cold. When I tested my good engine they were all around 380 psi. All cylinders should be pretty similar.
If you have one or two that are significantly lower then you may have stuck...
I would do that if you can. Low compression usually leads to an engine change, so it would be good for peace of mind before you buy it and get it converted.
Here is the pre-filter, which...
Ditto.....
You might be OK with 50/50 at this time of year but I would not recommend it at other times. You should go for a proper 2 tank conversion if you are going to use WVO or make your own biodiesel.

I have a few pictures of my old processor here. I've since sold it to a fellow member here.
It's a fairly standard Appleseed processor made from a 160L HWS, which makes up to 120L batches. More...
Most of the people on this forum are in Oz and we didn't get many of the European diesels here until recently, so I think that's why you haven't got any replies yet Steve.
As with any car it...
