Re: Convert 1981 patrol SD33 to use WVO

I've been running my SD33 for a couple of years now on WVO. You're right - no fuel return from the IP. I have a seperate WVO Filter, & wouldn't really like to go down the shared filter road. My ute...

Re: Pictures of my Land cruiser 1HZ conversion

What are you on about Tony - it was a balmy 10' last night :D.

The HE in my MQ is in parallel, but due to my HIH & other coolant heated components ( tank & filter) the engine needs to be driven...

    Re: Hilux 2.4 or 2.8

Are the 3 litre & 3 litre turbo IDI or DI engines? Are they like the 'cruiser engines - IDI for NA & DI for the Turbo?? I'm considering a change to Hilux, Navara or similar but like the IDI for WVO.

Re: Glow Plug Destroyer - see pics...

Same for my Nissan, I replaced them nearly 10 years ago when I re-built the engine & haven't touched them since. Is this a common problem for all DI engines or is isolated to Mitsubishi?? I've only...

Re: Glow Plug Destroyer - see pics...

Both my brother in law & father in law drive Triton 2.8 turbo diesels. Both run only dino diesel & the glow plugs only last about 20-30,000K maybe a wee bit longer. They've tried more expensive...

    Re: HJ47 2H conversion

    Hi Praccus,

I have the same idle problem on my MQ Patrol, similar IP setup - no return line. I've not had time to investigate but I suspect low fuel pressure at idle. As you say the hand throttle...

Re: How much petrol will a diesel engine tolerate?

Glow plug trick on the MQ's - hold the ignition key mid way between ON & START. This will hold the glow plug relay in until you decide to turn fully to the START position to engage the starter motor....

Re: Heated tank pickup for snow areas

I've been running a heated tank since I first converted to WVO. I frequently travel to the Central highlands here in Tassie & don't have any issues - I was driving around in the snow over last...

I originally had my filter & FPHE mounted at the rear of the vehicle (Although in a much better protected location ) but found much better results with all mounted in the engine bay. I had to...

    Re: Electric WVO pump

The Holley pump passed WVO but provided no pressure, the Facet acted like a closed tap hence the trial of the stock lift pump on WVO & the facet on diesel. The facet is coping ok with the Diesel but...

  17. Re: Tsxy type heat exchanger (pronounced Zy like eye or sky)

I started with a similar HIH setup but was too slow on its own to heat the oil to operating temp. I still have the HIH but added a FPHE in the engine bay & coolant heated CAV filter & all is well....

  22. Re: Market Research on SVO in Australia/Vege Oil co-op in Hobart, TAS

I totally agree with Paul & Geoff. Existing WVO users will already have a source of WVO secured, with Johnson's taking most of the remaining oil. There is only a certain amount of WVO available so...
