thanks Alga, I put some biocide in the tank, Ill do another 100 kms or so and pull the pump out again, just to see if anything has changed.
Thanks, Alga, do you know if biodiesel kills the bug or makes it worse? I replaced the intake prefilter this time rather than just cleaning it. I also bought some biocide which I'm hoping will help.
Thanks, Tony, It got a lift pump in the tank, and its the filter on the end of that get blocked, It supplies about 30 psi to the common rail pump. the main filter is clean, this crap just keeps...
Hi I bought a Peugeot 306 hdi that had been sitting outside for more than 5 years broken down, I suspect it has the diesel bug as I keep getting this black-brown sludge blocking the in-tank filter, I...
I tried it and it worked well but, there was a couple of things I didn't like, waiting for the cement to settle, disposing of the cement, buying cement, and also the finished product, looked like it...
I bought the wife a 406 Hdi about 6 months ago its been running 100% bio with no problems. Just for sh!ts and giggles I got the ECU remapped to delete the EGR and an extra 30 HP by HDI tuning in the...
Ive got a couple of cars that are common rail, and also a friend of mine has a common rail and we both have run 100% bio for a few years now without any issues. I will say that we make high-quality...

When I was mechanicing in NZ I would often come across blocked cats on jap imports, possibly because in Japan cars are often left idling for long periods and never go on the open road. Symptoms are...
I don't know how much he put in the back of the truck, the Doco showed him pouring a 20L container in for about 2 seconds but it could have been a diffent amount, they didn't say. He could of put 10...
He was using it on a building, one of those god awful architecture designed concrete lego box McMansions.
just saw a doco on concrete, and the builder put 20l of his "secret concrete conditioner" into the truck just before the pour. He slipped up though and said that "glycerine" makes the mix more...
Ive been running my 406 on 100% bio for 4 years now and about 18 months ago, it developed this anoying habbit of the throttle sticking on. Its an eletronic pump so is drive by wire (pre HDI) It would...
You can buy oil accumulators mostly for race cars, here's how they work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhRfUegqwxg
I'm thinking its probably a bad idea to run the engine with the bolts lose, but i see why you would want to it would make tuning it much easier. I read the whole thread and that was the advice after...
You just loosen the bolts numbered 4 and there is also one on the back of the pump. They are a little hard to see on the engine, and i had to remove the top mount of the damper for the serpentine...
I couldn't figure how to upload it as a proper PDF, so the index doesn't work on yours. I think this is the page your looking for 1F3-43.
I followed the instructions on this forum...
I have the Ssangyong factory manual and have made a link for everyone. I was going to put it in the repair manual thread but it has been closed.
So here are 1500 pages of it,
Ssangyong Musso...
I found the vacuum line i knocked off, it now turns off on the key.
Hi, Tilly, have you advanced the injection timing on your Musso? I would think it would help with the cold start, as well as give you a performance bost.
Just pull the back cover off and adjusted the full load screw 3/4 turn CCW and turned the idle down one turn. The Musso goes better again. The only problem now is the engine won't turn off..... sigh....
Thanks Tony, Im going to do that next. I read that the Musso engine is retarded from the factory and only gets worse as the timing chain stretches. The engine even sounds better, at idle it now has...
Just a little off topic, I advanced the timing on my Musso, three turns CCW on the adjustment, (loosen the four pump mounting bolts first). Made a huge difference, pulls much better over the whole...
