    Hi all,
    It's been a while.
Thought I'd share an experience with air pumps that may save someone a headache.
Make sure your inlet pipe for the air runs higher than the top of the drying drum just...

    Peter,
I get some very low use oil that titrates at less the 0.5 and is crystal clear. Over the summer I have been filling up my sub tank (80 series cruiser with 2 tanks) with this Veg and using it...

    Re: KOH Cleaning for DJ

    Peter,
I use about 1 cup in half a bucket (4-5 lt) for a mild mix and have gone as strong as 3 in the same but it is very corrosive and if you splash any on your skin you will be hopping to the hose...

    Re: Electrical switch wiring question

Great looking setup. Love the insulation. What is it?
As pangit says the switch could be covered. I did a similar thing and mounted a small MDF board to the side of my reactor (My preference was for...

    Re: Electrical switch wiring question

Now that you have cut the plug off it you could get a GPO with a separate switch on it and wire the pump to that and still have 2 outlets free for the other stuff.
    A light switch will handle a QB80....

Something I found useful when doing small batches was to use a 2 litre orange juice type bottle and screwing the top from a squeezy sauce bottle on it. Do the wash and let it stand upside...

    Re: making a venturi

    Tony,
I was using a QB80. I think the problem was the angle of the taper and I got the inlet port in the wrong place. This was mainly because of the hand beating of the copper. On a second attempt I...

Re: contaminated WVO with used engine oil

I'd try doing a small 1 litre batch first. I have no idea what it would do for your titration results though. If you get a fair titration, try it. If it produces good biodiesel, scale it up...

    Re: pumps?

    Hi,
A QB80 from ebay is not a bad pump. I use one for 160 litre batches and it turns it over quite well. There is a QB60 for smaller batches also. Not sure how much they go for now, but under $100...
