I'm reasonably sure it's not operating. Hasn't done so for years, since they had their big accident. You can buy good quality cooking oil from them, though (rice bran oil).

Trevor,
I don't know what could be causing the problem but if you want to try a good mechanic I would recommend Nick Cascanis mailto: info@carsoffrance.com.au
Cheers!
That is sad news :(
Please post what information you can. Are you sure they had an explosion? I completely missed that on the news.
I totally agree with what you're saying about supporting...
Anyone know what the problem is at Thomastown? I haven't been able to get fuel there for a couple of months or more. :(
Will they open up again?
Cheers! :D
Adam,
Sorry mate, the club hasn't operated for years. But a few of the past members are still active on this forum and further afield.
I'm a biodiesel consumer, not a brewer, so can't really...
:D I meant commercially available at the pump. I think they're in the process of scaling up for that right now.
Eve,
I filled up there on Monday (2 days ago). All going as usual. And yes they have started growing algae but not yet produced biodiesel from it. Looks like it won't be long before biodiesel from...
If the problem is the hassle of making your own biodiesel, have you considered buying it retail?
I get mine from FINA fuels in Thomastown. Their fuel is guaranteed to meet the Australian fuel...
Apparently Tom's not there as often as he used to be.
Try calling Yanni instead - 0448716077
Cheers!
Don't be too hard on the truckies Darren. There's a lot of FUD being very competently spread by those with vested interests in the 'old industries'. Most people clearly find it difficult to think...
hi Trevor :),
I have a 2004 Citroen C5 with a similar 2.0L engine. Check out the thread at C5 to run on biodiesel - aussiefrogs which has some info from Pug 307 drivers included. Looks like there's...
Hi Marki,
Elliot at the French Garage in Keys Rd, Moorabin has been a great help to me with moving my C5 wagon from petrodiesel to biodiesel. Most of his customers have Citroens and Pugs and I think...
Just an update on this company and a request for any further information on the Australian activities?
PetroSun, Inc. announced that the Board of Directors of Algae BioFuels, a wholly owned...
You could try Citroen as well. They are part of Peugeot and use the same engines. They look like good value as secondhand cars because they depreciate quickly after their initial sale. My impression...
Hi,
Can't help with the locations question but if you register at Melbourne Biodiesel Club - Helping Melbourne and Australia with Biodiesel - Home, you'll get notice of MBC meetings and can become...
I'd like to add my vote for a site in the Eastern 'burbs, though i don't have a car at the moment. I should have a diesel by the time your outlet is operational.
Cheers!
BTW, I had no problem...
Thanks David.
Some interesting pictures here.
Cheers
Hi Darren,
You and your friends are to be congratulated on getting through the agenda and at the same time encouraging real discussion of some important issues. I look forward to some interesting...
Thanks for the links and the explanation. It's great to see that a national user association is on the way. I think your point about whether a user gets his/her fuel commercially or otherwise, should...
There are about 200 submissions to that committee! Far too many to read but I did look at the two you mentioned and one more, from Renewable Fuels Australia
This was a well constructed submission...
OOOoops!
The meeting has been postponed!
Now on Wednesday 16 August, 7 pm, at CERES. Apparently there was a double-booking for the lecture room.
I hope you can still make it.
...
There's a meeting this Thursday in the CERES lecture room at 7 pm. You would need to become a financial member to vote in the meeting but I'm sure you'd be made very welcome if you attend.

Sorry I can't help with collection :( - for a couple of months yet. But I thought 'Darren was onto it' and 'Chris was just around the corner'?
BTW, Chris thanks for all that information...
Chris, are the waste oil collectors you refer to using it for biodiesel? If not, what do they do with the waste oil to make it worth 20c per litre to them?
Thanks.
Cheers.
