Correct, B100 will keep them quite clean and working at specification far better than you would expect. Minimal coking / sooting on the pintles of mine after 150K km B100
Would love to, will be down that way Late Sep running stinky stuff but might steal some of yours?
Walbro will be fine, my 1hdft has 12mm lines too. Going to update its turbo one day soon, then we will find out.
Upgrade Turbo, 200kW 600nm torque?
Why is this so far away, could do with some.
Jens, that pump will most likely draw 6 times that at startup typically. Very quickly drops but the inrush will kill a supply. Same issue is facing SA power consumers, get a fault and the system...
I did all the calcs years back on how much heat for how much oil for how long, I do know 1 joule per ml per degree C for water, just getthe specific heat of oil which is about 0.7 something and do...
Please tell me those running SVO, do your pumps varnish up due to oil? I do know incompletely rested oil going to bio does this so I am very interested/. Sorted that issue out now. Yjr effect of the...
All i know is the extreme agitation and 60 degrees makes more (volumetricall fuel than original oil volume with obvious high conversion %, very sad problrm when your 1000 litres of oil makes more...
Tony is on the money, the pistons certainly are different and I am fairly sure there was some block stiffening. Certainly between the 80 series 1HDFT and 100 series 1HDFTE there is block...
The biggest issue with the 1Hz turbo is cracked pistons, they are simply not up to much boost, I would make 7 the max personally, there is a risk even there. Definately add an intercooler to lower...
What boost levels? 1 Hz is not good for high levels keep them low for longevity, Having said that my 1 HDFT is good for 30 PSIm the 1Hz I would conservatively do 7-8 PSI. If you need it I have a...
This most lilkely is tar from old mineral fuel, not bug. Given the Pug 405 age it will have run on the dirty stuff and this is what drops out of it. When I first started on Bio I kept a sample of the...
As far as I know viton is not available, there are synthetic ones which seem good. Happy to be corrected. Nitrile rubber seems to withstand it quite well so I have observed.
Injector pump, OK this makes sense, yes the front haft seal is something to look for, make sure its gets a synthetic replacement as this can cause the timing belt to become slippery, bye bye motor....
Good to hear, keep an eye on it, which I am sure you will. my experience was slightly different.
Pug HDI and B100, look out. The high pressure pump will be letting go, it has rubber seals and in the 307 at least the fuel filter sealant was going, rubber bleed lines on injectors. At least the in...
Beware common rail cars and rubber seals in the high pressure pump, let alone water in it!
That is not algae, if you get algae let me assure you, you will know it/.
Being organic the algae will live all through biodiesel feeding on water in it and make a very awful mess of the...
Wow, it looks like the residue of one form of diesel bug, the real hassle with bio is the bug lives all the way trough the fuel. The colour of this residue is correct, the waste from the bug is a...
I simply removed mine by wire and preheater extraction from engine bay. A bit tidier and less to be concerned about.
Nothing to do with wvo you are using, high FFA and its affecting the metals? My direct injection toyota has no preheat at all, removed it years back, starts perfectly on whatever you use. Then again...
Careful guys, conversion % in bio that is washed will affect things, just ask me. Unwashed might have the benefit of stopping oil from coating pump internals and gumming things up. Unwashed is my...
Bug will stick to plastic, don't ask how I know, it forms a nice resin type cake that does not stick really well but it does cause issues. Use a biocide seen a few cases of it lately.
