Re: Indonesia goes to B50 next year

Yes, they reckon their tests have not found a problem with B30 and they will probably say the same with B50.

Assuming they are right, I guess it is up to manufacturers to update their owners...

Re: Indonesia goes to B50 next year

I guess they want to go with what they have on hand. Makes sense but B50 is a huge step. They might have to develop/import special local market engines. Might be the rebirth if IDI!

    Re: My first wash. AARGGHH

The bubbling is done at the same time as warming and simply speeds the drying along.

I never needed much heat when bubbling at the same time. Only about 30 degrees or so.

    I am no expert or...

    Re: My first wash. AARGGHH

Forgive my ignorance here but why are you reluctant to bubble dry when you are still talking about leaving power on for the other methods?

You just need gentle air bubbling and a little bit of...

    Re: Timing on Mercedes engine

Yeah I know. You don't really need a drink holder. It rests OK on the dash.:)

    That's the non turbo auto.

The non turbo manual is also rated at 19.7 seconds on the same website.
  9. Re: Mazda Bravo / Ford Courier 2.5 Turbodiesel Tips n Tricks

Tony, I am guessing from your other threads that the Courier is not really suitable as a blending vehicle but rather as a 2 tank system?
  10. Re: Mazda Bravo / Ford Courier 2.5 Turbodiesel Tips n Tricks

I hope it is just a thing with the old IP Tony and that the new IP will fix it. 70% seems a bit on the thinner side and of course means more misfuel to be collected and filtered.

    Strange that the...
  11. Re: Mazda Bravo / Ford Courier 2.5 Turbodiesel Tips n Tricks

Great news that you have a solution to go back to each time to get back to 100% power.

With your experience Tony, I'm sure you can now refine the process to find the sweet spot.
  12. Re: Mazda Bravo / Ford Courier 2.5 Turbodiesel Tips n Tricks

Just saying that because I had that n January with my other (petrol) car. It used to go fine for a few km then slow to a stop. Restart engine and everything went well for another couple of km and...

Does the tank have a gauze over its internal pickup?
  14. Re: Mazda Bravo / Ford Courier 2.5 Turbodiesel Tips n Tricks

    Hi Tony,

Why not try draining the blend out and going back to diesel or bio until you can isolate the exact issue?

    Thanks.

    So then I understand you:

    1. turn the adjuster 3 turns CCW
    2. tighten everything back up
    3. start the engine and listen for noise

Did you notice any particular noise that told...

Can I just ask. When you say "loosened", can you just loosen the mounting bolt or do you need to remove it and the 4 bolts mentioned in the manual?

    Well that wasn't so hard.

It all came back to me. Found a small quality cafe, bought a coffee and then all the old phrases came back to me.

    Thanks Tony,

Like you I remember the early days when cold oil was assumed to automatically lead to ring coking.

It would be good to look a the evidence after all these years.

    Thanks Tony,

Do you use any supplementary fuel heating in the Musso?

Have you heard of the old issues of ring coking coming up with blending?

    Waste Oil Market Cornered?

It seems everywhere I look lately WVO is collected by large scale "free" commercial operators.

    The blue '44 brigade.

Is there anywhere these guys don't dominate?
