Hi Mikey is this still for sale?
How many K's has it done?
Think it would be easy to get a roadworthy?
    Thanks

      Jim,
Have a look on Gumtree. There are plenty of Mussos on there. The Turbodiesel was introduced around 2000 IIRC. I have one running veggie oil, unconverted. I add up to 20% ULP for Winter, no additive in Summer.
They can be adjusted for greater engine power.
Life is a journey, with problems to solve, lessons to learn, but most of all, experiences to enjoy.

      Current Vehicles in stable:
'06 Musso Sports 4X4 Manual Crew Cab tray back.
      '04 Rexton 4X4 Automatic SUV
'2014 Toyota Prius (on ULP) - Wife's car

      Previous Vehicles:
'90 Mazda Capella. (2000 - 2003) My first Fatmobile. Converted to fun on veggie oil with a 2 tank setup.
      '80 Mercedes 300D. 2 tank conversion [Sold]
'84 Mercedes 300D. 1 tank, no conversion. Replaced engine with rebuilt OM617A turbodiesel engine. Finally had good power. Engine donor for W123 coupe. (body parted out and carcass sold for scrap.)
      '85 Mercedes Benz W123 300CD Turbodiesel
      '99 Mercedes W202 C250 Turbodiesel (my darling Wife's car)[sold]
      '98 Mercedes W202 C250 Turbodiesel (my car)[sold]
'06 Musso Sports Crew Cab well body. [Head gasket blew!]

Re: Ssangyong Musso 2.9 diesel 1998 with SVO conversion

        Hi everyone,

The turbo diesel Musso was introduced in 1998 on the Musso SUV (station Wagon) after the company was taken over by Daewoo.
I have test driven a Daewoo Musso station wagon turbo diesel. It has the same running gear as the Pick-up. There was a bit of extra plastic trim on the engine that was later removed with the introduction of the pick-up.

        Daewoo went bankrupt in 1999.
Off the top of my head, I think the Musso was not sold in Australia from around 2002- 2004.
Production of the Musso Pick-up began in 2002 and ceased in Korea in 2005.
The Musso pick-up was sold new in Australia from about 2004 until 2006 when all the stock in storage at the Korean assembly plant was sold.
I have heard rumors of some Mussos with a 2007 sticker on them but have never seen one.

In Australia, the registered year of the car is taken from the date the compliance plate is attached to the car, not the date of manufacture.
My Musso is registered as a 2006 car because that is the date the compliance plate was attached to the car, however it has a build date of 2005

Tony, Tilly, Did the Musso change to common rail at any time or is the 2006 still mechanical injection?

            "no additive in Summer."
Are you saying, in summer, you put SVO in the normal tank with no heating of veg oil, or any added Petrol?

The Musso never changed to common rail DI engines.
While the earlier Mussos SUV was available with both Petrol and diesel engines, the Pick-up was only sold in Australia with the 2.9 Mercedes Licensed turbo diesel with the Bosh inline IP including the 2006 ones

Re: Ssangyong Musso 2.9 diesel 1998 with SVO conversion

Penangke, yes, exactly as I wrote it.
I bought it in July last year with no working GPs.
After replacing all GPs, all fluids and filters it is not a reliable workhorse. I have had to replace fuel filters a few times, but not recently.
Since July, I have done 8000km, using straight veggie oil, but did add 10% petrol in the first few tanks.
I also cranked up to ALDA and Max fuel, to make it drive better (more power before boost and more power on-boost). I have a water / methanol injection system I am installing on it. I hope this will improve full throttle power a little more.
At the moment, it is not as powerful as my 300CD that I also run on straight veggie oil (no ULP in winter), bit I am careful with it as the OM662, made in Korea for the Korean assembled MB100 vans, and used in the Musso, has a reputation for head gasket failure. I will not be cranking up the boost on it as I feel this could lead to a short engine life.

Ssangyong did produce a common rail diesel engine, but not in the Musso.
