    Wax in filters

My 89 merc om603 is getting blockages in the main filter with what looks like thin wax?
Running straight veg except on very cold days when I add 15 % unleaded.Summer time is undiluted.
What might I mix in the oil to stop this wax skin ( opaque ) from blocking the filter
    Some home made fuel additive?
Would adding petrol to each tank help?
I saw a product in Bunnings called wax and grease remover? ( a spray painting cleaner I think )
So the other question is does adding anything to fuel/ oil do anything useful or just make you feel good?
