Well I have been buying meth off kelly's wreckers for ages now and the service has been slowly declining . yesterday I walked out.

where is everyone buying methanol from in brisbane (northside preferrably) these days?

I got all mine off Archerfield speedway> Nice guy, good service. Bit cheaper than Kelly's when I enquired a few years ago.
BUT I have about 150lt you can have for $100 if you want to corm to Ocean View past Dayboro. I have stopped making bio and have bought a SVO kit from ELsbett, which I will install soon as I run out of bio.

I only have a Musso now, but I regret not putting it in my Urvan 15 years ago when I first heard of it.
Elsbett have been making conversion kits for 30 years, both single tank and dual tank versions.
THey make them custom for most makes of diesel cars at varying prices. THe Musso has a mercedes motor so is one of the cheapest to convert
The kit cost $1100 (incl postage) (A friend just paid $1500 for his ford courier kit).
THe kit consists of new injectors, new glow plugs, new filter with a heater, electrics (new relays, leads, etc) fuel hoses and instructions.
Mine is a single tank kit. You can run it on straight veg oil unless temp gets lower than -10%C.
I met a guy who has run a 4WD (troopie I think) for 200,000 with one of these kits without any trouble.
I look like doing the conversion next week, as bio is just about gone.

Update on my Musso conversion to run on WVO.

I installed the Elsbett/Greasenergy kit in December. Had a few problems, partly because the instruction booklet is pretty bad. This is at least partly because of the poor translation of German into English. Main problems were working out where to connect hoses. Also heating element did not seem to work off the new relay. After sales service is great however. ALexander who invented these kits and is still selling them, answers emails quickly, but English can still be a slight problem. He is a lovely, guy, though and is back in Bris in May.

Anyhow all is well now after 3000k on WVO. The car is running much better, much more power and better milage. BUT, this is mainly because, while working on it I cleaned out the turbo hoses and got the turbo working for the firs time since I got the car last March! So it is hard make any comparison with biodiesel.

Not hard to compare how much less work (and stress) in making fuel however. I just pour vegie oil in one end and fuel comes out the other end after gravity feeding through a 5micorn and a 1micorn filter.

All I miss is the glycerine which I used for cleaning lots of things, including my hands, but more importantly oil spills.
Perhaps someone (Cade perhaps) could save me a few 20lt drums.

Will keep you informed after a much longer use.

You can have as much as you like Jim! let me know when you are heading down this way and Ill put some aside for you. I generally make about 50 L of glycerine per week / fortnight, so I dont really stock it up, its gets away on me otherwise.....
