Good example of BD Home Brew kit

    Hi all

I'm looking to make my own Biodiesel and was wondering if i could look at a good example of a "home brew" set up rather than following all the diagrams Etc on the web. if anyone has a good example in Sydney area and cares to share - please let me know.

    Thanks

You should post them up here instead of emailing them out - more people will benefit that way, rather than the info/knowledge being lost and inaccessible to the rest.
If you're not sure how to do that, private message me and I can help you, or possibly do it for you.

I live in Berowra and you can come and see my setup in the garage if you want. PM me if you're interested.

I'm away until 15th Jan though.

Here's a quick image of my basic processor - please disregard the OH&S issues!!

I haven't got time to write about it at the moment, but if there are any questions, please feel free to ask!

    Cheers, Steve.

I have an almost identical setup as yours but haven't found a suitable pump at this stage.
Is the pump in your picture OK?
How long has it been in use?

I would appreciate details of the pump so I can buy one.

Thanks for all your posts. Good information.

I love it Steve! It's just as chaotic as my set-up. I like all the safety gear, goggles, respirator, rubber gloves and are those steel capped sandals?
Good on ya, I'm not game to take pics of me in action or you'd be paying me out.

I just love your easy access to the KOH on the floor which you simply shovel into the processor!

    Just like a steam train?

Actually, I was emptying my processor one day when my mum came outside screaming, "Stephen, Stephen.... where are you.... hang your bloody washing on the line". After hanging the washing on the line, I went up the street for lunch and while taking my first bite into the pizza, remembered I'd left the 135L processor emptying into a 25L drum. So, it takes a fair bit of kitty litter to absorb 110L of slop vegie oil slops. I'd have dragged the hose in if it weren't for the antique furniture sitting beside the processor!

    Mum learnt her lesson.
