The article on glycerin is interesting. The price of refined glycerin has dropped to the point of being used as boiler fuel and chicken feed. Some smaller plants are apparently having to pay people to take the glycerin away.
I wish there was a lot more research on glycerin being used in foodstuffs. The moral argument against taking vegetable oil for food in a hungry world and converting it to motor fuel could be ameliorated if the glycerin was incorporated into the food chain.
