Re: Volume Plus Bio-Diesel Cash Back

Dunno about Parramatta rd, but I snapped this on the Hume HWY, south strathfield.

And yes, good to see them actually have a sigh up, in the same size as the Unleaded etc.

As for this rather delayed incentive program, I was told that it should finally start some time next month.
Apparently they were having trouble with either the cards, or the card readers getting rolled out.

Re: Volume Plus Bio-Diesel Cash Back

I have been a comitted BD user for about two years. I used to get it from a good source (but never knew who was selling it to me - cloak and daggers stuff.) But since the Maricville BD station closed, I have been purchasing the BD form VP.

I'm a small time user, as I hardly ever drive - I'll probably use less than 3000 litres a year, and therefore could never get cash back, but I thought I should mention to the group that my car had to be towed to Gemini Diesel the other day. The fuel pump and injectors were glued up. The BD had turned to oil paint, and it cost nearly $2000 to fix. I've only filled twice since, but it's been regular deisel, I'm afraid.

My car is a D2.4 litre Toyota Prado import (1991) with a surf engine and injectors.

Please email me if a good source opens up somewhere.

      Thanks.

PS I do remember Morris (or was it Robert - the American, you know him) warned me about VP fuel.

PPS does anyone know the science behind oil turning to glue?

Sorry to hear about your car misfortunes, I had hoped that VP were cleaning up their act. Did you try to report this to the DEH, or seek any compensation from VP? As for Morris, he's going to open up again in Marrickville, hopefully soon.

Which VP's have you been using?
I've had no issues, thus far buying from South Strathfield or Revesby.

Is it possible, with your vehicle being older, that it's not gummed up from the crap the bio may have been cleaning out of your tanks & lines?

Interestingly, VP seem to have removed all notes of Bio Diesel from their website.
          Not a good sign.

Morris, hurry up, we need you!!!

I used VP "biowhat" for a month or two and ended up at the mechanic to flush the system out change filter and take a white goo out of the fuel. I wouldn't use VP fuel not even for free. One bill from your diesel specialist pays for one year worth of fuel. It is absurd to risk it.

I don't understand all this enthusiasm for VP's Biodiesel advertisement.
It is in fact the worst that could happen to the Biodiesel market since no one will be able to discern between real biodiesel and the stale smelling mixture of unknown description containing some form of vegetable oil in some precarious state or another you get there.
