      Re: Biodiesel Supplies

I've just seen one in use over the weekend. My mate has had it a couple of months and loves it.

        Re: Biodiesel Supplies

Interesting units. Has anyone considered purchase of these and the setting up of a co-op (for personal use only).

The smaller unit can produce a reasonable amount of bio, so a "you scratch mine and I'll scratch yours" arrangement could work?

I would be interested located in the Port Macquarie area

          Re: Biodiesel Supplies

The HDPE tanks can be bought from any plastic moulding company who use the Rotomoulding method.
Electric Hot Water Systems (new or used) can be converted to biodiesel processors.
Fractional Horsepower elevtric pumps are readily available.
25 litre HDPE drums are available for methanol / caustic mixing.
Hose fittings and a stand to tidy it up can be made by many handymen.

If you are making biodiesel for a Coop, perhaps a 1KL processor would be in order. I believe you could make one from scratch for less than the 200 litre processor they sell.

If buying a package is what you want. Bioworks can sell a package to suit you.

If you are looking at costs, build from scratch will win hands down.

            Re: Biodiesel Supplies

I understand what you are saying and basically I agree, I have asked for the pricing and it is on the way.

The savings would definitely be there for self made units, I guess I was looking at getting up and running without the learning / building phase (as such).

I suppose building a unit with a group would be a good exercise and shed type thing :-)

In Sydney I found blue plastic chemical drums of various sizes at Reverse Garbage in Marrickville.
