Hi Mark, I was just trying to figure out how to the dead head to return the fuel. I am wondering how to control the 45 psi and return it to the WVO tank without losing any pressure. Any ideas?? Also, I would like to see your diagram of your conversion. Do you still have it avalible.

      Thanks Bob

Re: list of suitable and unsuitable fuel pumps

        hi bob,
you can maintain 40psi on the injector pump by mounting a boost pump just before the ip and install a regulator on the return to tank, this seems to work on a dead head system.

Walbro 6065 lasted 3 months (bought from Plantdrive - they don't sell pumps anymore - too many returns)
Master E3309 lasted 1 month (cutout after 30 mins operation)
Carter P74143 lasted 1 month (slightly better than Master E3309)

Pump is located after water heated fuel filter. Pumping 5 micron filtered rice bran WVO.

I have tried a Holley Blue, and a Chinese copy of one with veggie oil. They do not like cold veggie or a cold 50% blend of veggie and biodiesel. Even hot veggie is hit and miss, while hot 50% blend appears to be OK most of the time.
I have had no problems using these pumps with B100 (as a transfer pump >250 litres / hour)

                          Walbro 255lph geroter pump! $100

A terrific WVO pump for on-vehicle use is a Walbro 255 lph geroter pump. These are as low as $100 new and come in a variety of configurations. I think most would prefer the universal in-line version. I got one used that was designed for in-tank installation but put it on a test bench and it was unstoppable. Only drawback is it is capable of high pressure so looped return is not advisable.

Sorry Tony - I'm in California.
Connected the Walbro to my 98 Chevy C2500 6.5L TD which immediately went over 50 psi and blew out the seal in my fuel filter. Ordered a pressure relief valve today ($100). This should take care of the problem but it may have been better to start with a different geroter pump which includes a pressure regulator.
